From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, demons, and dark forces growing in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to begin their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group knows exactly where to head next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as important members in the powerful family could enable the party enter places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to travel to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
